Advanced Gamma-Ray Spectrometer (AGRS)
The Advanced Gamma-Ray Spectrometer (AGRS) is an intelligent, self-calibrating gamma-ray spectrometer using large volume NaI(TI) detector arrays. The unit is available in 3 standard configurations:
- AGRS-2: comprises 2x4Liter NaI(Tl) scintillation crystals oriented downwards, and required electronics;
- AGRS-4: comprises 4x4Liter NaI(Tl) scintillation crystals oriented downwards, and required electronics;
- AGRS-5: comprises 4x4Liter NaI(Tl) scintillation crystals oriented downwards, 1x4Liter NaI(Tl) crystal oriented upwards (cosmic/radon detection), and required electronics;
Multiple units can be chained together for larger effective detector volume and detection surface.
The AGRS unit can be easily installed in the aircraft and function independent or can be integrated with PEI’s data acquisition and navigation unit.
